Talk Like a Pirate Day 2011

Yarr Matey! These here be cookies delicious enough to make ye want to give up yer booty for em!

Woodland Critter Cookies

Everyone knows how much I love squirrels, well the same goes for all woodland critters. So you can't imagine my excitement when I figured out I could make them a theme for fall!

d'awe.

Gunstringer Cookies

My wonderful boyfriend recently worked on two new games that came out from Twisted Pixel. After he talked me up to his coworkers I had nothing left to do but make some specialty cookies for them. So upon the release of The Gunstringer for Kinect, this is what they found awaiting them in their office...

The Twisted Pixel Cookies didn't turn out quite as well as I would have liked, but I was rushing for time. At least the other designs came out smashingly!

More Work Cookies

I haven't been doing a ton of work besides that which I do everyday at my jorb, so here are a few of my favorites from the past few months.
These were Save the Date Cookies for a Dell Children's Hospital Event.

Eiffel Towers for Bastille Day

Hula Girls for Summer

Personalized Maracas for a Wedding

Monograms for a Wedding

French Poodles for Bastille Day

George for Shark Week (possibly my favorite cookie to date)

I'll work on getting cookies updated more regularly. I'm currently working on end of summer Woodland Critters, and preparing for Talk Like a Pirate Day on Sept. 19th!! I also made some specialty cookies for my grandmother's 80th Birthday, and am going to make some cookies for the release of a video game that my boyfriend worked on. Then I'll be booked solid for Halloween, it's going to be a busy fall!

Wedding Cakes, Modeling Chocolate, and Work Cookies

A few months ago I helped out a friend of mine with a couple wedding cakes. I didn't do much, just some filigree work on the sides, and assembling.. but I'm still very proud to have helped.

That same friend pulled me in to help with some cake toppers made of modeling chocolate this weekend. A cute puppy, and an apple for a NYC cake.

And while I'm on a roll- I've included a couple of my cookie designs from work that I'm especially proud of. Hope you enjoy!

Monster Cookies

My friend's son had his 2nd birthday this past weekend, and I attempted to make some monster themed cookies to send to them. While sadly the cookies didn't make it through the shipping process (something I need to do some more research on), they were awfully adorable before they left Austin!

*correction* The cookies were not as damaged as I believed and with only a few casualties were still enjoyed by little ones in the Dallas area. :)

My First Cake Decorating Competition

There is an annual cake competition in Austin, TX (where I reside) that I have wanted to enter for the past 3 years. Due to lack of money to fund this venture I haven't been able to do so until this year. I am very happy to present my very first entry into a competition.

The competition theme this year is Superheroes and Supervillians, and as you can see I decided to go with Wonder Woman. While I love the entire cake, I'm most proud of my hand painted comic panels (which you will find surrounding the bottom layer of the completed cake.) Here are the close-up pictures of those panels so you can fully enjoy their individuality. Each panel is about 2.5''x3.5'' or smaller. The cake itself is 25" tall and the core is made from styrofoam.
